April 19, 2020: A Faith the Saves
Welcome to Parkview Church Online, this second Sunday of the Easter season. Easter is not one particular day, but a lifetime of celebrating the risen Christ in our lives. We are Easter people with each breath we take. During the Opening Prayer and Blessing, there are words in bold font. We you read or pray those words, pause a moment and think about something that represents that word in your life. Come and worship.
Opening Prayer (either pray out loud or silently)
We come into God’s presence with joy this day...
because In God, we have an inheritance that is imperishable…
We come into God’s presence with hope...
because in Christ, we have an inheritance that cannot be defiled.
We come into God’s presence with longing...
because in the Spirit, we have an inheritance that never fades.
We come into God’s presence with love…
because in God, we have an inheritance that brings new life.
"He Lives" played by Linda Kessler, and sung by Suzzi Luken and Tina Stamper.
A Sermon on a having a Faith that Saves by Pastor Tom
Community Prayer by Melora Newsome
Blessing (either pray out loud or silently)
Through Christ, God has given us a new birth into a living hope. God has given us an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading— an inheritance protected by the power of God. We rejoice, therefore, even if for a while we suffer various trials.
For life is stronger than death, love is stronger than hate, joy is stronger than sorrow, and the promises of God are sure. Amen.
