Rev. Thomas Miler
Tom Miller serves as Lead Pastor. He is an ordained elder in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church and a graduate of United Theological Seminary. His wife, Lori, is also a pastor and serves at another area UMC church.
Karen Burkhardt is the Administrative Assistant at Parkview UMC. She spent 24 years at NCR as a Systems Analyst before going back to college to study social work. She graduated from Capital University in 2005 and then worked as a social worker for the Area Agency on Aging, Hospice of Dayto, Avalon by Otterbein and Greene County Council on Aging. She has been married to her husband Phil for 41 years and they have one daughter, Angela, son-in-law, Daniel and three precious granddaughters. Karen enjoys frequent visits to Evanston, Ill to spoil her granddaughters. She also has an associate degree in interior design and loves using her artistic skills at the church. Karen has been a member of Parkview UMC since 1980 and has felt the lifelong tug to serve God in her life from her days of confirmation until the current day
Linda Kessler has been at Parkview since 1998. Prior to that, she also played here for five years in the 1980’s. She graduated from Heidelberg University, cum laude. As a full-time professional musician, she plays in top venues around Dayton and Cincinnati such as l’auberge and country clubs, Forest View Gardens, Whitewater Opera Company, Kettering Children’s Choir, and Dayton Choral Academy. She has also played over 3, 000 Broadway shows at La Comedia Dinner Theater and is a Wright State University staff accompanist. In addition, she has played for nine International tours to Europe, Ireland, South Africa, China, and Australia, and has participated with Interlochen National Music Camp.
Melora Newsome is in her second year as the Children’s Director at Parkview. She also volunteered with the children’s ministry program for several years prior to being officially hired. She was born and raised in Miamisburg. In March of 2008 she got married to her husband and two years later welcomed a beautiful baby girl named McKenna to their family. Three years after McKenna was born they had Micah, who is a true gift from God. She homeschools her little ones while teach education courses part time at Sinclair Community College. She loves teaching students how to work with children at all ages. She graduated from Wright State University with a BS in Education and went on to get a master’s degree in K-12 education and and later earned a second master’s degree in Special Education. She loves children of all ages and teaching them the word of God.
